Countless Adventures Await

What do you want to do today? When you wake up in Valemount, the crystal blue sky is truly the limit. Regardless of the season, our spectacular mountains, rushing streams and miles of wilderness beckon you to enjoy all the exciting things to do in Valemount. Check out Tourism Valemount for more information regarding activities around town and who to contact to book your next outdoor adventure.

Hook Line and Sinker:  If fishing is your game, we've got you covered all year long. In the summer, bring a boat out to the marina boat launch at Kinbasket Lake and cast your line for some rainbow trout. Be careful though as winds get bad out on the lake. In the winter, bring your ice auger to cut a hole in the ice at Sheer Lake or Moose Lake. For a unique experience, take a tour of the Swift Creek Salmon Run. Depending on the time of the year, you can see Salmon attempt mighty leaps over Rearguard Falls.

Saddle Up:  If your favorite perch is on top of a trust horse, you've come to the right place. Our miles of trails offer plenty of room for guided tours or a ride on your own. Valemount offers plenty of classes and clinics if you'd like to learn to ride orperfect your skills. You are welcome to bring your own mount and take advantage of local boarding facilities.

Ride the Rapids:  Need to cool off on a warm summer day? How about letting the spray of the fast moving Fraser River cool you off as you careen down the rapids? Stellar Descents and Mount Robson Whitewater Rafting are both places for you to start planning your day on the river.

Hit the Greens:  For some, a vacation isn't a vacation without a round of golf (or several). Watch the sun set over the mountains as you play nine at Valemount Pines Golf and RV Park, or gather your group for breakfast before an early tee time. If you plan it right, there are certain times of the year during which you can sled in the morning and golf in the afternoon. How's that for paradise?

Hop on an ATV:  Valemount, BC is one of the most pristine, naturally beautiful places around. Take advantage of miles of forest service trails and rent an ATV. Stop to appreciate waterfalls, glacial lakes, stunning mountain meadows, and lush green forests. Start with Alpine Country Rentals then head over to Westridge Family Loop; from there you can plan a journey of almost any length.

Making Tracks:  In Valemount, we've elevated snowshoeing and cross-country skiing to an art form. With fresh snow falling almost constantly and miles of groomed snowmobiling trails and snowshoeing paths, you will want to lose yourself in our winter wonderland. Please check out the VARDA website to learn more about the local snowmobiling areas.

Mush:  Experience the quintessentially Canadian adventure of hopping on a sled and racing through terrain pulled by a team of magnificent, highly trained dogs. Cold Fire Creek will get you started with a 60 minute mushing tour. You get to choose whether you snuggle into the cozy basket or enjoy the ride from the driver's seat!

Lace up those skates:  Way back when, no one skated year round in air conditioned bubbles. No way! You grabbed a stick, laced up our skates and started a game of pond hockey, or performed graceful turns as we meandered down the frozen surface of a stream. That's still how we do it around here. So glide over the smooth ice at Cranberry Marsh or meander down the frozen channels of Starrat Wildlife Sanctuary. Check with the front desk to find the closest open rental place.

Learn how to fly:  As you zoom through fresh powder on skis or snowboards. Once you conquer regular skiing, we'll up the ante. A snowcat from Cariboo Snowcat Skiing will crawl it's way back up the mountain to deposit you at dizzying heights, or the bravest souls can try heli-skiing and really have a story to tell.

Power up a Snowmobile:  Now this is how to tackle a sledding hill. If your new to snowmobiling, start at Alpine Country Rentals for a guided single or multi-day snowmobiling adventure. If you're experienced, you'll find miles of maintained terrain for every skill level. If your really adventurous, you can find plenty of unmanaged tactical and treed rides to test your power. Please check out the VARDA website to learn more about the local snowmobiling areas.
